Road to Dublin - Origin of the Species

Outra música linda, feita pelos U2 para o album How to dismantle an atomic bomb. A música no album passa um pouco despercebida, mas ouvindo as versões que os U2 tocaram ao vivo, transformaram a minha valorização desta música, sobretudo na versão do DVD live from Chicago, referente ao Vertigo Tour. Edge ao piano, acompanhado por Bono a cantar. FAzem uma balada realmente linda. Uma daquelas que nem vontade dá para cantar, apenas ouvir.

Foi considerada durante os concertos, pelo próprio Bono, como a melhor música daquele album, se bem que eu discorde (continuo a achar que a Sometimes you can't make it on your own é a melhor mesmo... agora não discordo que, ao vivo, aquela música se transforma e se torna realmente uma coisa que, no album, não é). O album é, como os proprios U2 disseram, um regresso ao passado com os olhos postos no futuro. E parece realmente um album com uma música muito semelhante àquela que fizeram nos longincuos anos 80, dotados de muita maturidade.

Não tenho muito mais a dizer sobre esta música e, realmente, não tem história (ainda). É daquelas que se ouve simplesmente.
